Danehill and Chelwood Gate Climate Action Group

Published: 15 September 2021

Earlier this year the Parish Council formed a small group interested in climate change action.

We will be joining in with the nationwide Great Big Green Week* 🌍 on Sat 18th September at Chelwood Gate Village Hall, 10-2pm, and we are very grateful to be able to be part of the Village Market Day. There will be a Plant Swap, useful climate change information and handouts, Ashdown Forest will be attending and sharing information plus you'll be able to chat to our Green Cleaning expert!

We are delighted that local bird watcher Clive Poole will be on hand to provide tips and advice on what we can do to attract birds to our gardens and villages.

Wealden District Council will also be joining in providing information and promoting the steps they are taking to help fight climate change.

We would also like to highlight how so many of us make use of what's available within our own gardens and hedgerows, and there will be a warm welcome for anyone who wants to bring along their own produce - edible or 'crafty' and hopefully to share their recipe and tips!
If you would like to bring along your plants for the Plant Swap table, we'd be delighted!
We'll be selling wildflower seeds and there'll be the opportunity to order small, bee-friendly trees for your own garden.
