The Parish Council has been busy in 2023 and 2024 trying to make sense of historical incomplete records and old data base information to map officially the cemetery based in Church Lane Danehill.
To review the online map please visit
https://cemeterysearcher.co.uk/search/danehillPlease note the online map is updated yearly so new internments will not be noted just yet. Please also note there still remains some duplicates which cannot be removed yet as the data is similar but not exact enough to remove or decide which record to remove in case of doubt duplicates will remain. Please also note that there are a lot of older graves in the top half of the cemetery which cannot be mapped to an exact position as there are no recordings on the original maps and no headstone and therefore have been given a general location to log the data of the burial it is hoped by doing this people can research family history albeit the exact location cannot be determined.
Thanks to the History Society who have been instrumental in helping to map the area and recover historical archives.
To access in depth research by Danehill Parish Historical Society on the Burial Ground of Danehill please go to:
danehillhistory.org Click on 'Research' to access Burial Ground project. This includes the history of the Burial Ground and, as of this moment, there are some 140 families in the original burial ground + innumerable individuals. You will find the Burial Ground is divided in two parts. This project concentrated on the early portion. The majority of C20 burials will be found in the newer section of the Ground. We have not investigated this part. As more families contact us we continue to add further information. To contact us email:

There are four casualties in the Cemetery. Below is a link to Danehill’s entry on the website where you will find the names, and ranks for each entry. If you click on more information for each entry and scroll to the bottom to Grave Registration and Headstone you will see the original paperwork associated with each person and here you may find and a little bit of information about the next of kin and where they lived (if this was given at the time).
