Community Groups have also taken advantage of what Wealdlink can offer. If there is a number of you and no-one wants to drive, give them a call it sometimes makes life a lot easier. To register your interest, free of charge, please call Wealdlink on 01892 771332

Chelwood Gate Village Hall

The Village Hall has been in existence since the 1920’s as leisure and reading room serving the inhabitants of Chelwood Gate and the surrounding area. In 1964 it underwent a major renovation project which consisted of the addition of a kitchen and toilet block refurbishment to the main hall. Since then further improvements have been achieved and continue to be reviewed.
The Hall is managed and maintained by Trustees and Committee which is team of volunteers who apart from the regular bookings and administration of both public and private hire events organise money raising and charity events during the year.

Danehill Primary School

The School is based in the centre of the two vibrant villages of Danehill and Chelwood Gate.  The school has been part of the community for over 150 years and this small rural school offers children a unique learning experience within the Ashdown Forest.  Danehill School provides its children with the skills to help them do their very best in all aspects of their lives, and encourages them to develop a love of learning that will last for life. The school is guided by its Christian ethos where children are encouraged to become independent, responsible and respectful members of our local, national and global community.
